As a patient Ellen can often feel daunted in medical spaces with fears of misgendering, and concerns medical professionals will not understand or appreciate their identity.
This has resulted in a number of barriers to accessing healthcare including delaying appointments and also having to access private healthcare due to 5+ year waiting lists regarding gender affirming care.
Ellen is determined to help reduce these fears and worries for other patients no matter their identity, by educating professionals in the healthcare space.
